The web has become an indispensable resource for rheologists and polymer engineers. Most rheometer manufacturers now maintain websites. Many University rheology research programs are now described on the web. Rheologists market their consulting and laboratory testing services through the web. Rheological societies, such as The Society of Rheology, have developed detailed websites. Technical meetings for rheologists and rheology short courses are also advertised this way. Graduate students maintain personal websites which incorporate their resumes. These are useful to industrial recruiters. Searching for the word part "rheol" on any generic search engine now uncovers hundreds of sites.
Created in January 1996, this RRC website has been accessed from over two hundred countries, and is used hundreds of times per month. One of the College's first websites, the RRC site preceded any of the College's departmental or research center websites. The College of Engineering maintains detailed usage statistics for the RRC website.
