New plastics and polymer industries relying on high technology should consider location in the University Research Park. The park serves as a conduit for transferring technologies from the campus to the private sector. Location in the University Research Park helps plastics companies such as The Madison Group to develop and sustain beneficial relationships with the university community.

The park features a start-up company "incubator" called the Innovation Center. For a competitive, subsidized rate, small companies can lease laboratory and office space in the Innovation Center.
