Governance

The RRC is administered by an interdisciplinary Executive Committee from the Colleges of Engineering and Letters & Science, who elect one of their members to Chair, and another to Associate Chair. Professor A. Jeffrey Giacomin now chairs the Executive Committee, and Professor Daniel J. Klingenberg now serves as Associate Chair. Professor David S. Malkus serves as Chair Emeritus.

Membership

The RRC Executive Committee elects its new members by formal ballot. Though election to the Executive Committee requires a simple majority, it also requires no negative votes. The RRC Faculty Directory lists the current members of the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee meets in closed session in or about the first and last weeks of the Fall and Spring semesters. Closed sessions are conducted in accordance with Robert's Rules of Order. The Executive Committee, their graduate students, post-doctoral researchers and visiting faculty, form the core of RRC membership. The RRC meets weekly in the Fall and Spring semesters for the Rheology Research Seminars which are all open to the general public.
